WHO BUILT THIS
I'm Jason. I've been inside restaurants for 25 years β and I've watched what kills new ones.
Before CFA made me a Franchise Owner, I was in their Leadership Development Program β the role they reserved for prospective franchisees. CFA started sending me into their hardest situations. Not because they gave me a playbook for those situations β they didn't have one β but because I built one.
The first store taught me how. I walked in with a marketing plan, an operations plan, every angle I thought would matter. Within days, my entire team was gone. CFA couldn't prepare me for that. Nobody could. I had to invent a way to run a restaurant that didn't depend on a great staff being there, a marketing budget I didn't have, or me being everywhere at once.
What I built in that store is the foundation of JumpStart. I refined it through every location CFA handed me after that β seven of them, each on a 90-day clock, each came back to profitability.

THE UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTH
Up to 80% of independent restaurants close within five years.
Almost none of them planned to.
80%
closure rate · independent restaurants · first 5 years
It isn't the food. Most restaurants that fail were serving food people liked. It isn't the location. It isn't even the marketing budget.
What kills them is the same thing every time: the restaurant is running the Owner, instead of the Owner running a System that runs the restaurant. They're solving the same problems on Tuesday that they solved on Monday. Hiring out of desperation. Covering shifts they shouldn't be on. Watching their savings burn while they're too exhausted to think clearly enough to fix it.
Most Owners don't fail because they don't work hard enough. They fail because nobody ever taught them what to build β before they were drowning.
WHERE THIS TAKES YOU
Picture your restaurant 90 days from now.
Not a fantasy. The actual day-by-day life of an Owner who runs a System instead of a fire drill.
DAY 0 · TODAY
The hopeful unknown
You've read the books. You've saved the cash. Maybe you've signed the lease. You can describe the restaurant you want to open β but if someone asked you to write down the System that will run it on a Tuesday at 2 p.m. when you're not there, you couldn't. You know that. It's what's keeping you up.
DAY 90 · THE TURN
Structure installed. Freedom begins.
Your standards are written down. Your first leader is trained and starting to run shifts. The day-to-day is moving off your shoulders. You can walk in at 11 a.m. and see at a glance whether the morning ran right β because the System tells you. You've stopped reacting. You've started owning.
YEAR ONE · THE LIFE
A restaurant that gives back
The restaurant is open and running on a Saturday morning while you're at your daughter's soccer game. Not because you got lucky β because you built it that way from day one. There are still hard days and hiring calls that don't work out. The System holds anyway. The work is still real. It just isn't crushing you anymore.
6Γ Symbol of Success Β· Chick-fil-A's highest honor for Franchise Owners
THIS IS FOR YOU IF
You're an aspiring Owner who plans to do this right.
βYou're considering opening your first restaurant β whether that's six months out or six years out.
βYou've spent years inside restaurants and know the work, but you've never had to design the System that runs the whole thing.
βYou suspect the failure statistics apply to you β and you're willing to do something about it before they do.
βYou want to be an Owner β not an Operator who never gets a day off.
βYou'll do the work between coaching calls, not just consume the content.
THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF
You're looking for the wrong kind of help.
ΓYou're looking for lease law, licensing help, branding, or social media marketing β none of that is in this program.
ΓYou want a step-by-step menu and a logo. JumpStart teaches the operating system underneath the restaurant, not the restaurant itself.
ΓYou already own and operate a restaurant that runs without you. You're past the JumpStart stage.
ΓYou're not willing to do the work between calls. The coaching doesn't help you if you didn't open the curriculum that week.
ΓYou think 25 years of restaurant leadership and 7 successful turnarounds isn't enough proof. (We won't argue about it.)
WHAT'S INSIDE
The 4 Pillars of JumpStart.
Module 0 designs the life. The three phases install the system that runs the business.
Module 0
Design Your Life
Before Day 1
The work every other program skips.
Before you build the restaurant, you build the life it has to support. Most owners do this in reverse β they build the restaurant first, then discover it doesn't fit the life they wanted. By then it's too late.
βThe Life This Business Must Support
βThe Owner Role Agreement
βVision Statement
βMission Statement
βCulture
βNon-Negotiables
βDecision Filters
Phase 1
Stabilize
Days 1β30
Standards written down. The right people on the floor. A baseline that holds.
Before you can systemize anything, you have to stabilize. You'll define the standards your restaurant runs on, identify the people on your team you can build with, and install the daily baseline that stops the same problems from happening every Tuesday.
βYour standards, written down
βThe right people on the floor
βThe operations baseline
βDaily rhythm + pre-shift routine
Phase 2
Systemize
Days 31β60
LEAN thinking. Operating playbook. Systems by position.
Now you turn baseline into system. You break the work down by position, define what excellent looks like at each one, and write the playbook that lets a new team member be useful by their second shift instead of their third week.
βLEAN restaurant thinking
βOperating playbook
βPosition systems
βTraining rhythm
Phase 3
Leadership Transfer
Days 61β90
You build the leader who can run it without you.
The final 30 days are where the work moves off your shoulders. You develop the first person on your team who can run a shift without you in the building. You hand off the day-to-day. You move from being the person who runs the restaurant to being the Owner of one β which is the role this whole 90 days was designed to put you in.

THE 90 DAYS
The 90 days, on one page.
Each phase builds on the one before. No skipping. No racing ahead. The point isn't to finish β the point is to install.
Module 0 Β· Pre-Open
Design Your Life
Vision, role, non-negotiables. You name what the business has to give you before you build it.
Days 1β30
Stabilize
Standards on paper. Carriers in place. The same problem stops happening every shift.
Days 31β60
Systemize
LEAN restaurant thinking. Playbook by position. The whole place starts to run on a system.
Days 61β90
Leadership Transfer
First leader certified. The work moves off your back. You become the Owner you came here to be.

WHAT YOU'RE PROBABLY THINKING
Real questions, real answers.
If you're hesitating, you should be β anything worth this much deserves the hesitation. Here's what's likely on your mind right now.
The honest math: a restaurant build-out runs into six figures. Your lease alone is multiple thousands a month. $749 is small money in that context β and it's the one spend in that range built specifically to protect every dollar that comes after.
Most first-year restaurants don't lose their build-out money because of bad construction or a bad lease. They lose it because there was no operating system underneath the business they just spent six figures to open. JumpStart is what protects that money. The lease, the build-out, the savings you put on the line β none of it survives without the system that runs it.
If $749 in one shot is a stretch, the 3-pay plan exists to make it work.
WHY THIS SYSTEM WORKS
Built and tested under pressure β every time.
The system you'll install in JumpStart isn't theory. It's the same operating discipline I've run inside seven turnarounds, thirteen years of franchise ownership, and one independent.
CASE FILE Β· FIRST TURNAROUND
Beautiful location. No customers. Almost no staff.
The first restaurant Chick-fil-A handed me was a beautiful building with barely anyone shopping. I came in ready to roll out a clever marketing strategy. Instead I lost almost the entire staff the first week β they went back to college β and ended up running open-to-close with one other person, cooking or working the register while the other did the opposite.
Every free hour went to interviews. Then to training. The only thing I could control was the food and the service in front of the guest. By day 90, the location had its first sales increase in years. Profitability went up. Nothing I did was clever.

Pay-In-Full Members OnlyFREQUENTLY ASKED
Hard questions, real answers.
Is this a cohort? Do I have to start with a group?
No. JumpStart is ongoing. You start when you enroll, work through the curriculum at the structured pace, and join the bi-weekly group coaching calls and the RFA community as you go. You don't wait for a start date and you don't get left behind if your week falls apart.
How much time will this take per week?
Plan on 3β5 hours per week. About one to two hours of curriculum work, one hour on the bi-weekly group coaching call (every other week), and the rest implementing inside your own restaurant. The lessons are designed to be installed, not just consumed.
What if I don't have a restaurant open yet?
You're exactly who this is built for. Module 0 β Design Your Life β is meant to be done before Day 1 of operations. The Stabilize, Systemize, and Leadership Transfer phases assume an open restaurant, but you can pace yourself: do Module 0 now, then move into Phase 1 as soon as you open. The structure waits for you.
The more you know before you start, the more successful you'll be when you do. This is the kind of work you want in your hands as early as possible β months or years before you sign the lease, not weeks after.
Do I get lifetime access?
Yes. Once you're in, you're in β for the program as it exists today and every future addition I make to it. As I add new tools and lessons to JumpStart, every existing member gets them, free, forever. Your access keeps growing as the program does.
Does this teach branding, social media, or legal compliance?
No. JumpStart teaches leadership, operating systems, and the Owner identity. Lease law, licensing, branding, and social media marketing are deliberately outside its scope β those are real and important, but they're not what I teach. I'd rather go deep on what I've proven works than dilute the program by reaching outside it.
A NOTE BEFORE YOU DECIDE
If you're still deciding, this is for you.
I built RFA because I've watched too many good people get crushed by a business they were excited to open.
I've spent 25 years inside restaurants. I've seen the wave that takes new owners under. It isn't dramatic β it just builds and builds, problem on top of problem, until one Tuesday they realize they've spent more on this than they've made and the air is gone.
It doesn't have to be that way. Restaurants that survive don't survive because of better food or a slicker marketing plan. They survive because they run on a system, not on heroics. I've installed that system in every restaurant I've owned or turned around. It has worked every time β under pressure, with broken teams, in 90 days or less.
JumpStart is that system, written down and structured for someone in your seat. Whether you're months out from signing a lease or weeks away from Opening day, the earlier you have this in your hands, the more it does for you. The cost of trying it is small. The cost of skipping it, if the statistics catch up with you, is much, much bigger.
If you're in, I'm in. I'll see you on the first coaching call.
You came here looking for a system. Here it is.
The founding-member price is available for a limited launch window. After it closes, the price goes back to $1,497 β and stays there.

MORE ABOUT JASON
For the reader who scrolled all the way down.
Jason Purvis has spent 25 years in restaurant leadership. Before becoming a Chick-fil-A Franchise Owner himself, he was in CFA's Leadership Development Program β the role CFA reserved for prospective franchisees. CFA started sending him into their hardest situations. Not because they gave him a playbook for those situations, but because he built one.
The first store taught him how. He walked in with a marketing plan and an operations plan β and within days, his entire team was gone. CFA couldn't prepare him for that. He had to invent a way to run a restaurant that didn't depend on a great staff already being there, a marketing budget he didn't have, or his own omnipresence.
What he built in that first store became the foundation of JumpStart. He refined it through every location CFA handed him after that β seven of them, each on a 90-day clock, each came back to profitability. By the time CFA gave him his own franchise β 13 years as an Owner β the System was battle-tested. Same when he and Azadeh opened Sidewalk Coffee & Bagel as an independent. The operating system he installs in JumpStart is the system he ran in every one of those situations.
He built Restaurant Freedom Academy after watching too many independent-restaurant owners get crushed by problems that were solvable before they ever signed the lease. RFA is the answer to the question he kept hearing: βwhy didn't somebody teach me this before I started?β
The restaurant business is already hard. Don't make it harder by doing it alone.
